Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
He'll get pushed in the Forest dressing room to reveal his income; he'll either reveal it, which will piss the rest of the dressing room off, or tell them to mind their own fucking business, which will piss the rest of the dressing room off.

Bullet. Dodged.

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
We definitely could have done with his talent and the same impact that he had first time round...

...But not if we have to deal with his entourage(or his ) GREED and unrealistic demands upsetting the team ethos and causing discord in the dressing room.

Desperately disappointed as I have backed all his decisions to date but finally see the light. Greedy little oik who plays the Wannabe Hammer on social media.

Fuck him.

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
I would lump on Steve Cooper leaving before Xmas. The only signing that forest have made this summer which hasn't been accompanied by quotes from cooper but instead features the bent owners son

I read that a Lingard has signed up to Forest for just a year. I expected to hear that he’d won a long expensive contract.

They're an interesting one. Could easily go the way of Fulham and qpr who changed way too much too soon when they got promoted and tanked. Hope not, they're a proper football club and good to have them back

agreed on last bit, loved him but if he stayed with us it would have ended in disaster

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
He's an incredible player but 200k a week if true is unbelievable, especially considering his age (nearly 30 is old these days)

Wonder where he'll end up after Forest?

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
I’m more than happy that Forest signed him. No doubt he will feature in some highlights this season with some spectacular goals, more likely he will be a massive drag on their campaign with his social media antics and on field inconsistency. The biggest reason to be happy we gave him a swerve is because you can never trust a sportsman who lets the team down by giving information about what goes on in the dressing room. He really showed his character at Man U. We dodged a bullet.

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
If it's only £10m for one season that's not bad really, and works out roughly the same as he cost us on loan. We paid £4m in loan fee and wages for just 16 games.

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
All those calling out Fornals clearly watch the ball for 90 minutes rather than the game.

Like Patsy Holland, brings other options into the game for the "Stars" to exploit.

Sven Roeder 11:31 Fri Jul 22
Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
I still would have taken Lingard yesterday but the impression I get is that 90% of our fans would have signed him last July (maybe with a £10m fee) and with the passing of a year and all his TikTok nonsense in America when he should have been in preseason that that has dropped to about 10% to 20% with the rest having had enough & happy to see him go elsewhere.

Was chatting to a couple of Forest fans online yesterday and they reckon they are paying him £80k a week and that he has signed for Cooper and a 'big club'.
Not sure they understood that he is supposedly getting another £6m in a signing on fee so they are effectively giving him £10m for one season with a free transfer at the end to do a similar deal again next July
Guess if they stay up it will feel worthwhile

Meanwhile Moyes needs to stop standing around with his cock in his hand & get an alternative deal done

Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
No we fucking don't. In his last few games for us he was both exhausted from trying to prove himself to Manchester United and found out by those who had watched us and how we used him. Effectively useless. Good luck to him for getting a cracking pay day and good riddance.

fraser 11:21 Fri Jul 22
Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
Lard - I think that's the problem, nobody trusts us to get a younger more committed player as we're a bit shit at this transfer malarkey.

Admiral Lard 11:17 Fri Jul 22
Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
At 29 Lingard is facing the end of his career.... perhaps 3 good seasons left. He's cashing in his chips to the highest bidder.

Yes, we may have missed out on a couple of good performances but I would trade that for a younger, more committed talent willing to work for the team

stewie griffin 11:13 Fri Jul 22
Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
Think that's really harsh on fornals , and probably even benrahma

Lingard has had 9 good games in 4 years. A massive stretch to say fornals hasn't offered more than that

Jimmy Neighbour 11:04 Fri Jul 22
Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
Canvey - Would agree. All the money, tik tok nonsense aside, I think this is a big setback, as you say a level up from the players you mention.

dealcanvey 10:54 Fri Jul 22
Re: Why we really DO need Jesse Lingard
I’m gutted we didn’t get him. Don’t think he will emulate the form he had previously with us but he’s an attacking midfielder on Bowen’s level and will get you probably 10-15 goals in all comps.

He’s a level up on Benrahma, fornals, vlasic in terms of pace and finishing.

Hopefully this is the wake up Moyes has needed for some time.

Still some good attacking players out there but time is running out and we need atleast 2 maybe even 3.
